Athletic achievements and competition history
I did not participate in any sports in high school. I actually started running when i was about 28yrs. old. Running became my sport and I actually received a 2yr. schlorship to go back to school when I was 34yrs. old. I end up placing 2nd in State, being the oldest woman on my team with all the 18yr. olds. I have always admired the fit toned bodies in oxygen magazine and muscle and fitness hers and wished I could look like those girls. I decided at 38 to enter a fitness competition so I worked out really hard with weights and had to learn how to put a routine together. It was a very very small show but I had a blast, it was fun!! I accomplished what I set out to do. I love what weight training can do for your body, I also enjoyed running but I found out if you want to change your body you have to do more than run. I entered several more figure competitions about 3yrs. ago at the age of 46. These were local small shows, nothing like the BEST OF THE BEST WBFF shows. Some of the shows I have competed in were the Greater Tennessee Valley, Battle at the River in Chattanooga Tenn. which I did place 2nd , so that was exciting, also 2nd in the Capstone Classic in Gadsden. I have not competed in about 3yrs. and this show is totally different than the others, no comparison…This is the WBFF and I am so excited.
What excites you the most about competing with the WBFF
Oh my goodness, this organization is awsome, so many opportunities!!
What or Who inspires you to compete
Health is a blessing, my daughter Amber passed away at 18 yrs. old 3-15-2004, with a congenital heart defect that was detected at birth. All of her life her physical abilities were limited, mine are not. My daughter Amber is my hero, Amber is my inspiration. I do not take my health for granted.
What are your future goals
Future goals, well I take it as it comes at my age, if I decide to do something, I set it and do my best to achieve it!! Staying healthy, fit and being a positive person in all areas of my life for myself and hopefully to inspire others around me.

What obstacles have you overcome to achieve your goal?
On March 15th 2004 when my precious daughter passed away, I died also , the person that I was no longer existed. I have had to push myself each and everyday. Eight years have passed and I continue to push through life. I miss my daughter so so much. We have to make a choice in life as to how we want our lives to be, nobody can do it for us, nobody can take away the pain. I know in my life that I need to be a strong person, mentally and physically. Having the 3d’s in my life, discipline, dedication and determination are 3 things that help me in my life. Having a focus that takes all of me is what helps me and training for such an event as the WBFF CENTRAL CHAMPIONSHIPS takes all of my 3d’s. I will continue to battle the storm of grief and will always and forever carry and hold my daughter Amber in my heart each and every day. I know the road I travel will always be a hard and curvy one but no one except for me can try and make that road the best that it can be except me. I set a goal to be in the best shape of my life by the time I turn 50 which will be in July. I am thankful that my health has allowed me to be able to train and accomplish what I set out to do. That was my goal and I have almost reached it and that makes me happy because I did not give up.
