What are your athletic achievements and competition history?
When I was a child I did dance (ballet, tap, jazz) from age 2yrs till 18yrs. I played softball in high school. I didn’t get turned on to the fitness competition scene till 2006. I did my first figure competition. Wasn’t sure if the heels were for me LOL. 2008 I tried bodybuilding. I loved the routines, but still wasn’t me. In 2011 heard about WBFF and fitness model and I did my first competition last year, I love it and now I’m hooked!
*What excites you most about competing with the WBFF?*
Meeting the other competitors having fun on stage, and the awesome and amazing energy you get from everyone!! I had such a blast last year and made some amazing new friendships, I hope to make and meet new friends. Enjoy what we all love!!
What or who inspires you to compete?
What inspires me the most to compete is myself. I always strive to improve my personal goals and do better each time I hit the stage. Who inspires me, Diana and Micah of course number one!! They are so motivating and inspiring. I hope to have that effect on people someday and help them to a fit lifestyle.
*What are your future goals?
To improve my personal goals with fitness, and hope to inspire others to keep a fit and healthy lifestyle. With being a nurse I hope to share my knowledge with diet and exercise, and hopefully I can help stop some of this obesity in our state.
*What obstacles have you overcome to achieve your goals (what’s your story?)I have to go back several years to where it all started. I was very active when I was a child and in my teens. I was a dancer, ballet, tap and jazz and in high school I also played softball. Then I graduated high school and nursing school, I started my first nursing job at 18 years old. I was so excited to have my first real job. I worked 12hrs shifts 3-4days a week. My life changed so much I had to eat on the go at work as we were always busy, It was just easier to eat foods that were unhealthy “quick and easy”. Combine that with no exercise and next thing I knew 9mo later my weight went from 115lbs to 130lbs. I was so upset with myself. I changed nursing units and went from 12hour shifts to 8hr shifts that helped a lot I ate at a more regular schedule. I dropped down to 118lbs. Then I just yo-yo thing from there. My heaviest was 138lbs and wore a size 12. Now jump ahead 10years and I was getting ready to have my 10year high school reunion. I joined gold’s gym in Kansas City that was the best decision I have ever made. I dropped down to 120lbs before my reunion I looked and felt great! Now jump ahead again to 2006. I decided to do my first figure competition, it was an O.K. experience. I also did bodybuilding competition in 2008. Again I had fun and looked good, but still didn’t quite satisfy my urge to achieve more. In 2009 I was looking through Facebook came across Micah and Diana. I found Diana’s page first. I read her story about how she began and what she has now achieved. I also read Micah’s story both very impressive individuals, I was hooked. I followed them almost every day. I finally to make the decision to try there 12week program and I also decided to do my first competition with the WBFF 2011.. Both were great decisions!! I was so excited and determined to get to my goal. I transformed my whole diet and exercise with their help. So here we are a year later, and I am so excited to participate in WBFF again. I love it!!
