Recently I traveled to Haiti for the 1st time to meet the children that we have sponsored for many years now.  It ended up being one of the very best days of my life.  The joy and happiness I saw from them was priceless.  I got a vision from God that I was supposed to travel to Haiti and see our children for the very first time.

The initial feeling was of anxiety and fear but I knew this was a far bigger purpose and something I had to stay obedient with.  Our travels getting there were safe and on day 2 we traveled to see the children.  On our way there I saw such great poverty, people simply trying to make it. It is something so difficult to explain but you knew these people were living day to day trying to figure out where the next meal will come for their families .

As I walked into the grounds of where our children where I had all sorts of emotions going through me but the one that stands out the most was pure Joy. I had tears falling down my face as I approached them from a distance.   These children were able to get an education and have potential opportunities later in life because God blessed us to give to them.  Once we got close to them they started singing to us “We are Happy To See You” .  I spoke to them afterwards then went class to class to meet the teachers and hand out a donation from an amazing company in Kansas City Called Notes to Self.  Soon after they were released on a break and then we got to play with them, they loved Dianas hair so she let it out and let them play with it.  They kept touching my muscles so I taught many of them how to flex and they would hang all over me!!  These children have been taken care of well is what I remember while playing with them because of the amount of Joy i saw through them.
