Fitness Goal Sabotage
Hitch Fit’s 7 Ways You May Be Sabotaging Your Fitness Goals

- You eat the wrong foods, or are on a diet
The wrong foods are those boxed, processed kinds with a shelf life and an ingredients list containing words you’d never be able to pronounce. Healthy, fresh food is your answer. Diets seem like a great idea – but really don’t work in the long run. Commit to natural, healthy, and fresh options - You aren’t uncomfortable
If you’re smiling all the way through a routine – you’re not working hard enough. Activities like sprints are completely difficult and not fun! However, they will get you the results you want. Put a few of the oh-great-here-we-go’s in your routine and you’ll be helping yourself reach those fitness goals in no time. - Water isn’t your main ingredient
Hydration is essential to a healthy body, and without enough of it, you can easily reach exhaustion. It’s important to replenish the liquid you lose during a workout to ensure proper muscle function and fat burn. - Too much alcohol
We’ve noticed – it’s fashionable to drink! However, these delicious treats contain a stellar number of calories, adding more to your daily intake than you might think. While we’re not saying to cut alcohol out of your life completely – that’s a decision you must make for yourself – we are saying that it adds more calories to your diet, and can also interfere with your body’s recovery process. - Old or incorrect shoes are on your feet
If you plan on investing time and money into your fitness efforts, then you need the right gear! In general, shoes more than six months old should be saved for mowing the lawn on weekends. Have your feet sized appropriately, and also consider getting them checked professionally for things like pressure and even stride. This will significantly improve your foot’s desire to workout with you. - You aren’t resting enough
Those individuals that workout every day of the week and twice on Sundays aren’t doing themselves the favors they think. Your body needs recovery time – muscles that are used in basic aerobics and weight lifting will be tired, and need a day to regain their stamina to begin again. Additionally, maintenance and recovery isn’t just about lounging on the couch in between gym days. Stretching is also considered a rest and recoup time, and should be taken part in frequently. - You rest too much
What? I know this seems silly since we just talked about resting, but if you’re only active 3 or so days a week, you aren’t doing enough. Don’t take it from us though, the American heart Association even recommends a minimum of five days per week of activity lasting at least 30 minutes.
