Fitness Goal Failure
5 Strange Reasons You Aren’t Meeting Your Fitness Goals
You have goals, and you’re working hard to complete every day. But, for some reason, you just can’t seem to hit the numbers you want! While numbers on a scale aren’t what being fit is all about, it certainly has its part. Here are a few reasons that, despite all your hard work, your body just doesn’t seem to want to cooperate:
- You Aren’t Drinking Enough – Water isn’t just that liquid that’s consumed when coffee and soda aren’t available. If you are really committed to your health and fitness goals, then water should be your only source of liquid intake. Start chugging that natural goodness – like NOW!
- You Are Stressed – We know you’re tired of hearing the same old’ “stressed out” excuse – but it’s true! Corisol, commonly referred to as the stress hormone, encourages the body to store fat. Not only that – it degrades muscle tissue as well. Talk about your double-negatives! If you want to accomplish each fitness goal you set out to, then de-stressing needs to be a part of your regular workout. Try supplementing your routine with meditation or prayer time, and start choosing positive people in your life. Life is stressful enough without your friends bringing you down.
- You Are Sleeping Too Little – Put down the cell phone, computer, book, etc., and get to sleep, people! It isn’t just great for your mind; it’s a severe need for your body as well. In addition to reducing cortisol levels (you know, that hormone that stores excess fat), sleep also produces GH (growth hormone). So, while you’re getting that much-needed shut eye, your body is getting the immune support it needs, as well as proper organ function.
- You Have Poor Digestion – The insides of our gut system are completely complicated, but there one thing that scientists can all agree on – gut health is essential to feeling good, fit and healthy. Start taking care of yours before it’s too late by reducing stress, minimizing consumption of beans, sugars, and grains, eating fewer meals, and chewing your food completely before swallowing. Your stomach will show its appreciation in lost weight, and a healthier, happier body!
- Your Diet Is Lacking In Fiber – Along with good digestive health, fiber helps your stomach know when enough is enough. It fills you up, allowing you to take in fewer calories. Don’t be fooled into thinking you just need to add more bread and cereal to get your fiber intake. These highly-processed foods are actually worse for you, despite their high fiber content. Instead, take in more fruits, vegetables, oatmeal, and brown rice.
