Springfield, MO
*What are your athletic achievements and competition history?
This is my first show!! Stepping on stage for the first time will be an achievement in itself. I would consider being a working college student, and pulling off this contest prep is an achievement in my books.
*What or who inspires you to compete?
Seems cliche, but Micah LaCerte is extremely inspiring after meeting him and reading Hitch Fit’s “Keys to Transforming Your Life”.
Steve Cook definitely carries one of my favorite physiques.
And my younger brother, Kyle, inspires me most of all. I always strive to be a positive role model for him and set good examples.
*What excites you most about competing with the WBFF?
Taking care of my body is more than just a hobby to me. I would love to be rewarded for all of my hard work, and the WBFF offers the greatest of opportunity for my efforts. My goal is to win that Pro Card, but what excites me more than anything is the opportunity for exposure.
*What are your future goals?
Plan to graduate Missouri State University with my BS in Exercise Movement and Science. I am undecided if my education will stop there, or if I will continue onto Physical Therapy school. I would much rather work with athletes and more on the personal training side of exercise, but there are endless opportunities in Physical Therapy as well. And my biggest goal would be to be an accomplished athlete in the sport of modeling/bodybuilding.
My senior year of high school, I had numerous offers to play football and baseball at four year universities, but at the beginning of my senior football season, I tore my labrum anteriorly and posteriorly, as well as my biceps tendon. This set me back for accomplishing many of my dreams of playing baseball for a living. But it also opened the door for me to start my journey in the sport of bodybuilding because I had to find a hobby to keep me competitive and active. Little did I know that the sport would change my life and become more than just a sport, but a lifestyle. I have lived the “college party life”, made mistakes, and I have played with substances I should have never touched, but this sport, and many of the athletes involved, have inspired me to be a bigger and stronger person, both physically and mentally, and I must say, I am the happiest I have ever been.
*How can people find out more about you?
Feel free to contact me and get to know me. Im always down to share my knowledge and learn from others.
*Anyone you would like to thank who has been a part of your fitness journey?
Josh Heob of Springfield, MO. He is also competing in the Muscle Model category. We’ve done a great job of keeping each other in check throughout the prepping.
My parents and little brother for always giving me a reason to be the best person I could be.
My beautiful and amazing girlfriend, Brittney, for supporting me and putting up with me for the entire prep. I don’t think anyone could have done a better job of understanding the process and dieting. Definitely couldn’t have done this without her.
I’d like to add Derek Charlebois of Scivation and Beast Personal Training for doing my prep diet and workout.
Also, Micah and Diana Lacerte for making all of this possible, and for their constant desire to help all competitors however they can.
