She began her Hitch Fit transformation right before Halloween, and she opted for a Fitness Model program to boot! So she faced the challenges of all the temptations of the holidays. But the six pack abs she is rocking were well worth the effort!! Congrats Kristine on an AMAZING job and being such an inspiration to moms everywhere who may think they can’t get their body back after pregnancy!!

Kristine’s Story:

“Wow! What an exciting journey! First off…I have known about Hitch Fit for a few years now.  I had an unfortunate loss 28 weeks into my pregnancy in march of 20011.  I had heard amazing things about Hitch Fit and needed to get my body in shape for the summer to help with my healing process. I worked with a Hitch Fit trainer and my results were great for what I was trying to achieve at that time. I got in to the best shape of my life and literally 15 days after my 16 week program I learned I was pregnant again. Our sweet baby boy was born in May 2012.  While I was pregnant, I knew I had the courage and tools to do the online program following my pregnancy.  So 5 months post delivery, I felt it was time.  I still had a stubborn 8 pounds to lose and tons of body fat.  I chose the Bikini/Fitness Model program because by gosh, this time I wanted to get the best body I could and why not see if I could lose my baby belly and trade it in for 6 pack abs.  Now my timing wasn’t the best as I started my program October 30.  So that meant I had to get through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.  Well, actually that wasn’t so bad.  By being around temptations and giving in here and there, I learned that I could jump back on the wagon and still be OK.  I just learned that each “cheat” in a transformation stage puts you back about 5 days. Not fun, but realistic in the game of life!

So a little history about myself…I have been in shape most of my life.  I played sports in high school and exercised throughout my adult life.  Eating has always been my weakness.  Growing up I was very fortunate and could eat whatever I wanted.  Well, once I hit my mid 30’s, my body started to change.  It was telling me I needed to lay off the entire carton of cookie dough when I was pregnant, the large box of junior mints at the movie theatres and the entire jumbo bag of Twizzlers from Target on a bad day. Ha! All this being said…I have maintained the same weight except of course during pregnancies.  But, at the age of 37, I was ready to make a change.  I was ready to get my pre-pregnancy body back and finally ready to start creating healthier eating habits. Not just for myself, but for my family as well.  I am a stay at home mom with a 4 1/2 year old daughter and 9 month old son.  Life is good and busy! We are on the go with tons of activities to keep our family active. Incorporating Hitch Fit into our lives has worked, but not without challenges.  I wake up every morning at 4:35 to get to the gym and put in 2 hours of strength training and cardio.  Later in the program, I was trying to find time to get back to the gym to fit in yet another bit of cardio.  My husband is amazing and has taken over the early morning shift with my son and daughter, sometimes having to wake up as early as me. And yes, there were many nights of waking up with my son or daughter a few times and then hearing my alarm go off just minutes later. It might have made the days harder, but with my goals in mind, it made it doable. I immediately started losing those last stubborn baby pounds and by 6 weeks was at my pre pregnancy weight and still dropping. I was determined to meet my goals.

Speaking of goals. Mine seemed pretty simple, nothing extreme….learn how to eat clean, teach my daughter better eating habits, incorporate exercise in my daily life and lose 12 pounds, my baby belly, get my best body and get this…dream big… 6 pack abs.   I am so excited to say that I have achieved all of these goals and more!  I knew this program was intense, but wow!  I never would have imagined by body would end up this shredded. I still cant believe these are my abs, legs, arms. Actually did someone take my head and photoshop me on someone elses body? uh-no! this is mine. all mine!! Just 7 weeks from the end of my transformation I was wondering how the heck I was going to get my belly completely flat. I remember everyone saying…it won’t after 3 pregnancies/births/c-sections! well halalua! it is!!!

From day one, I followed Diana’s program to a tee. Did I cheat, yes occasionally.  But because I hit the gym hard every morning from the 1st day of the program and because I would not allow myself to continually “cheat” I achieved way more than I expected.  I leaned on Diana when I needed that extra push and she was always quick to respond and help.  It is simply amazing what cardio, weight lifting and food can do to your body! It was not easy, especially at the end! I had a few emails to Diana talking about my “bad” days of eating, usually after a long, stressful day with kids and lack of sleep. She always knew the right thing to say…I especially liked this one…”It is NOT easy getting to a fit level. If having that discipline, and saying no even when you feel like binging, were an easy thing, then everyone would look like a fitness model and walk around with six pack abs. It IS tough, and there are days when you feel like eating everything, but what separates the champions from the ones who don’t achieve their true potential is that drive that kicks in even in tough times.” Wow! Isn’t that true in all aspects of life.  This program is intense, but the power is in your hands! Everyone has the potential and time, its how bad you want it.  Yes, I want to look and feel good, but I also want to set the standards for my children.  If I can make their lives just a tad bit easier by giving them the tools to choose healthy options of eating and exercising, then I feel I am doing an important part as a parent.

I’m still learning and for me- the biggest challenge and lesson will be now…maintenance.  But I promise you…6 months from now I will look the same and feel even better.  Exercise is now in my life 5-6 days a week and clean eating is our new way of life!  It is my responsibility to maintain this way of life for myself and for my family!

As stay at home moms we often wonder if we are making a positive impact on our kids on a daily basis or heck making the most of our life in general. We have no one telling us we are doing a great job.  We have no meetings, deadlines, clients, projects that result in earning a raise, a promotion, a new client or new business venture. This transformation gave me confidence that I can still achieve something I set my mind to. And that I can go above and beyond to achieve optimal results!  It also gave me the assurance that I am bettering my children’s lives and making a positive impact on them! One of my most exciting moments of the program was just a week ago when I took my daughter to “9 Rounds” for a high intensity 30 minute work out.  I took the ipad for her to play with and was so thrilled to see her instead doing jumping jacks and push ups!  And after the workout she was so excited to show me her muscles.  I love it!

I have to thank so many people for helping me through this process…First and foremost, my husband has been such an amazing supporter and cheerleader.  Not only waking up with our kids but also for the many compliments and support when I was just darn pooped out from all of the workouts.  I want to thank my Hitch Fit work out buddies, Holly & Kathy who have amazing results as well! Melissa & Chris at 9 Rounds who helped push me harder each time I went in,  my other workout buddies and Spin Instructors at Aspen Gym and all other family and friends who listened to me talk insessently about my program. And to Diana for her support throughout the program!!

This is a program ANYONE can do. It’s how bad do you want it! You have to throw away the excuses and be ready to make sacrifices. You have to plan…plan when you are ready to give 12-16 weeks to this program with no excuses! You also need a support system because you will hit bumps in the road when you need support. Knowing that I had friends going to the gym every morning as well helped tremendously. Also, towards the end when people started to make comments like “eat some carbs” or ” eat” in general, which by the way…I eat 6 times a day. I needed my husband and Diana to remind me of my goals and that if we lived in California or Vegas or Phoenix, I am considered fit, not skinny! My daughter has taken more of an interest in exercise and healthy eating since watching “mommy” eat clean and make better choices. And that makes me so proud of myself as a mother! And it feels good to know that I gave it my all…and succeeded.  You have to be ready to commit, but when you are, the rewards are well worth all of the work! I hope I can be an inspiration to moms out there who feel a little trapped in the mother/wife roll and need a little something to make them feel like a more empowered mother, wife and woman! This will do it and you can do it!!! Take the step!! It’s an amazing journey!!”
