If You Want to Feel Great, Give Back
9 Charities To Help This Christmas

There’s more to life than a rockin’ bod, six-pack abs and sculpted triceps. Although a balanced diet and great exercise can help you feel great, nothing will make you feel better than giving back to your local community. There’s something about volunteering that just makes you feel great. So this holiday season, why not feel your best (ever!!) and give back to the community?
Mine and Micah’s lives would not be complete without volunteering. It’s a huge part of our lives and something that we love to do as often as we can. From something simple like speaking to children about the importance of diet and exercise to making week-long mission trips down to Haiti, Micah and I do everything we can to leave this world a better place than how we found it.
Now is the time that people need our help more than ever. That’s why, to help you get in the giving spirit, we’re listing some of our favorite organizations that we help throughout the year. Do your part and reach out to any of the following organizations (or a favorite of your own!) during the holiday season:
Operation Breakthrough is an organization very near and dear to our hearts. This nonprofit helps children who are living in poverty develop their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment.
2. Hope House
Hope House specializes in helping those who face or have faced domestic violence. Hope House is currently holding a Holiday Store Wish List. You can visit the site to see a full list of items that the nonprofit is currently recommending for holiday volunteers.
We love the KC Free Health Clinic. This clinic provides basic health care services at absolutely no charge to anyone who cannot pay for care or do not have insurance. We love promoting healthy minds as well as healthy bodies, and without KC Free Health Clinic, a lot of Kansas Citians would not have the healthy bodies that they need to survive!
We love this organization! In fact, we recently hosted a Women At Risk jewelry party in order to help provide women facing sex trafficking and sexual slavery find safe houses. There are more ways to get involved with Women At Risk (more than just jewelry parties!).
Toys for Tots is one of the most popular volunteer organizations to give back to around this time of year. After all, who wouldn’t want to donate some toys to children in need!? You can contribute to any local Toys for Tots campaign by donating a toy at drop-off locations, hosting a Toys for Tots event or volunteering at your local warehouse.
6. Monadnock Bible Conference (Love in Motion)
The Monadnock Bible Conference is one of my favorite things to be a part of today. Not only has the conference given me the opportunity to travel to Haiti to help those in need, but it provides a number of other great volunteer opportunities. Be sure to check out Love In Motion (a ministry of Monadnock Bible Conference), an organization that helps build schools, orphanages, medical clinics and helps with food/water distribution and child sponsorship.
7. World Vision
World Vision provides the opportunity to sponsor a child and provide basics like food, clean water, medical care and education. Share the true spirit of Christmas this year and get involved with World Vision—we promise it will complete your transformation!
8. SAVE
Another incredible nonprofit located in Minneapolis that needs your help this holiday season! The organization is always looking for both local and out-of-town volunteers to help with spreading the word about suicide prevention. Currently, SAVE is looking for office volunteers, speakers, booth/table volunteers, newsletter writers and event coordinators.
Big Brothers, Big Sisters is another one of our most favorite organizations out there—and we love being involved with it on weekly basis!! The organization is truly dedicated to helping children realize their full potential and build their futures. Big Brothers, Big Sisters would not be the success that it is today without its incredible amount of volunteers!
