*Where do you live?
Kansas City, MO
*What are your athletic achievements and competition history?
I have always been athletic growing up and excelled in basketball and volleyball in highschool. I continued to play recreational volleyball throughout college. I’ve been in and out of the gym throughout the years and really decided to kick it up a notch this year. This will be my first time stepping on stage for a competition. Just knowing that I made it through training and am standing up there on stage will be a huge achievement for me that I know I will be proud of!
*What or who inspires you to compete?
Micah LaCerte has been the biggest inspiration to me. I met him a few years ago through social networking on MySpace and really liked what he was about and what he stood for. I began to follow his websites and eventually met with him so he could train me. I started getting Shape and Oxygen magazines and really started to envy these women who were in such great shape! It has been so amazing to see the journey that Micah has been on from when I first met him to the amazing achievements he’s made along the way to where he is now. I was ecstatic when he met Dianah and she became even a bigger inspiration to me with all of her accomplishments. I have had some experience with modeling the last few years and I really want to take that to a new level and get into fitness modeling but wasn’t quite sure how. Diana was the one who told me about the WBFF competition. Even though I was nervous about it, she gave me the confidence that I needed.
I love a good challege and training for this competition has definately been a welcomed challege! It pushes me constantly and it helps me become not only a stronger person physically, but stronger mentally as well. It has given me a new found confidence.
*What excites you most about competing with the WBFF?
All of the amazing opportunities! The WBFF is such a great organization for athletes. The fact that it is coming here to Kansas City is so exciting! And I’ve met so many great people throughout this whole process. I’ve never seen such a great group of people who support eachother and cheer eachother on! I hope to come away with many friendships and memories.
*What are your future goals?
First and foremost just stepping on that stage for the first time! I have a bit of stage fright but hope to overcome that and do well this first competition and maybe continue competing with the WBFF. I would be absolutely ECSTATIC to be featured in a magazine! After the competition I am hoping to become certified so I can help others as well.
*What obstacles have you overcome to achieve your goals (what’s your story?)
I don’t have a big transformation story. I’ve always been relatively fit. But I did change my lifestyle around. That is one of the things that I always liked about Micah. He’s always talking about how it”s a lifestyle change, not a diet. So that is exactly what I did. I got rid of all the negative in my life and started focusing on the positive. I directed my social life away from the bars and started surrounding myself by people who support me and encourage me. And you know what? I couldn’t be happier!! Time management has always been an obstacle of mine. The first time I trained with Micah I was both going to school full time and working full time so that was really tough. This time around I am working 2 jobs while training but I amlearning time management better. Planning is crucial while training! And this time around my mind set was right about making this a priority.

Of course I want to thank Micah and Diana for giving me inspiration and also for making it possible for the WBFF to come to KC. I want to thank Josh Sehorn who has been my trainer at HItchFit. He’s been absolutely amazing to work with. I would like to thank my boyfriend Jake who was put up with all my dieting and healthy meals and to all my friends and family who have been so supportive and encouraged me along the way!
