WBFF Diva Bikini Model Caitlin Wagner

*Name, Bio and Stats:
I am 24 year old Orthopedic Sales Representative.  I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training.  So, I am also currently a Certified Athletic Trainer.  I am currently studying to obtain my Certification in Personal Training as well.  I have a strong passion for health and fitness and have recently become involved in Fitness Competitions to offset my competitive drive against myself and to obtain my favorite saying of “Never Stop Getting Better.”

*Where do you live?

Leawood, Kansas

*What are your athletic achievements and competition history?
I became interested in competing in October of 2010 and began training or learning more about the sport.  I did 3 shows in 2011: Muscle Mayhem (Bikini)/(Figure) where I did not place, NPC Midwest Open(Bikini) I received second place, and ABA Kansas City Classic (Bikini) where I took second . These shows I definitely didn’t feel like I knew enough or got the proper training and nutrition and decided I would take a few months off. I then decided to do my own training and diet along with the help of my boyfriend Brent Pitts, trainer at Laser Sharp Fitness.  I decided to train on my own knowing what I knew and seeking advice here and there.  I also started posing with Jamie Keen and Fred Rewlett at Laser Sharp Fitness.  My first show of 2012 was the NPC St Louis Midwest (Bikini) show where I came in the leanest and best shape of my life and took 6th so I was very pleased with myself even though I didn’t make top 5 like I wanted.

*What or who inspires you to compete?
I’d have to say mostly myself.  Being in sports and always trying to finish at the top of my class in academics I have a crazy need to compete.  I like to challenge myself and try to obtain the motto of “Never Stop Getting Better” My boyfriend Brent Pitts is also very health and fitness orientated and competes and has competed.  He has also given me the drive to challenge each other and to keep getting better together.  I also have an inspiration to help others in health and fitness.  I like to try and lead the role of maybe inspiring others to care about their health and feeling good which in turns follows my other favorite saying ” healthy, fit , and happy!”

*What excites you most about competing with the WBFF?

I have never competed in the WBFF, but I went to the 2011 in Kansas City and fell in love with the show! The amazing “show” atmosphere , the music, the lights, the energy, the audience, and the opportunities! It seems like one organization that really shows off all the talent and amazing hard work all the athletes have put in.  It also seems like one of the best organizations for opportunities outside of competing alone.  The exposure and the whole show just stands out! I will also be competing with my boyfriend in the show so helping each other through the prep, challenging each other, and working together to achieve something we both want is so fun!

*What are your future goals?

I want to obtain my certification in personal training so I can become a stronger advocate in helping others and inspiring others to achieve their health and fitness goals.  I would love to own my own gym down the road… but for now it is defiantly just to keep challenging myself and becoming a better me.  Competitions are a fun and athletic new passion and I really just want to bring my best to each show.  In hopes of this I can keep my competitive edge alive and keep my health and fitness always in check!

*What obstacles have you overcome to achieve your goals (what’s your story?)

I don’t have any major obstacles.  In fact I am quite lucky that basically I just wanted to do something athletic and fun that follows the route of staying fit.  Graduated college, started working full time, and then on the side it’s pursuing my passion of health and fitness.  I started towards end of 2010 and have progressed through out the last year and a half.  Another big aspect about all this is learning.  Learning my body, myself, new foods/recipes, new exercises, new technologies.  Its always tweaking, learning, shifting, and arranging to develop yourself.  So, one of the biggest things I have learned is balance.  A balanced healthy lifestyle really makes a difference. From eating, sleeping, resting, working out, water intake, and life changes it really has made a big difference in my life.  So besides my strong sweet tooth their hasn’t been any major obstacles.  Just learning who I am and what I want out of life.

*Anyone you would like to thank who has been a part of your fitness journey?

I would love to thank my family for being in great support of my lifestyle changes and always being there for me.  I would like to thank my biggest supporter Brent Pitts who has been on every up and down with me and given me great advice on training, nutrition, and a balanced happy lifestyle.  I would like to thank Jamie Keen, Fred Rewlett from Laser Sharp Fitness for great posing advice and support.  Thank you to Liz Kampschroeder and DaisyChickDesigns for my amazing custom swimwear.  I would also like to thank Shane Sleeper and Supplement Source for always being a great supporter of the community and myself through all the fitness journeys.
