Today’s feature is Roseanne, this beautiful girl is no stranger to Hitch Fit! I’ve had the pleasure of working with her in the past to get in shape for competing. This time around, the goals were quite different! After giving birth to her first baby, a healthy little girl, she reached out for help to get with a Hitch Fit Post Pregnancy Weight Loss Plan to help get down to her pre-pregnancy weight and body fat. Putting your health and fitness as a high priority during this time of life isn’t an easy thing to do, but it IS worth it, and it is doable. The other important thing with this transformation, was understanding that it was ok if things went a little slower! Making the best choices that you can each day will add up with time, and Roseanne is proof of that. When she was able to let go of feeling that she was on a deadline to get to her goal, and just took it one day at a time, that’s when she succeeded! I’m very proud of this little lady, the focus always being on doing the best that she could, making the best choices, and doing the most with the time that she did have available. She did an incredible job, shedding 10% body fat and 23 pounds. Putting herself in a position to be healthier and more energetic for the new addition to the family! Congrats Roe!!

Roseanne’s Story:
“After 46 hours of labor and an emergency C-section I ended up with a beautiful, happy and healthy baby girl! My heart never knew a love like this before and it constantly just explodes with love!
Ten days postpartum, I ended up in the ER with some complications. (I’ll spare you the gory details) I am telling you this because I realized a few months after giving birth, how petrified I was to exercise or make any intense, fast movements due to the recovery and later complications. So by just focusing on my nutrition (and of course the natural course of losing all that “baby weight”, literally) I lost the first 30 pounds in the first couple of weeks postpartum. I had 10 more pounds of pregnancy weight, plus an extra 15 pounds that I wanted to lose in addition! A couple of months passed and I couldn’t get those extra pounds off.
My weight plateaued so I bought a set of workout videos and began working out 30 minutes a day. It was difficult to find 30 minutes in a day and even worse, find the motivation and energy! I would have rather rest, sleep, hold my daughter while she slept, clean the house, play with my daughter or eat something. BUT I did it, I found the time. And all I kept telling myself, It’s ONLY 30 minutes! I started to feel really good! I lost another 4-6 pounds or so. Which was great and I felt like I prepared my body enough to really start getting in shape and building muscle rather than concentrating on the pounds!
Even though I was losing the weight, I still struggled with the nutrition because I wasn’t sure how many calories I should be eating while nursing and working out. Plus, I was getting to the point where I needed accountability and structure in my diet and workout plan. So I contacted Diana! And like always, she was amazing. I got my post pregnancy plan and she was able to keep me on a program that would still allow me to nurse my daughter and lose weight at the same time!
I contacted her when my daughter was about 4 months and I had a couple months left of maternity leave. She reminded me from the beginning to do what I could because it wouldn’t be perfect with a baby to care for and I wouldn’t always have the time or energy to get it all in every single day. Well, I don’t always listen :) and I definitely ran myself into the ground the first 4 weeks of the plan. But I eventually found a schedule that worked best for me and the baby. Even though I was home with the baby, I still prepared my meals for a few days at a time so I didn’t mess up my nutrition. FYI- For those moms out there: I was so pleasantly surprised my milk production actually increased with her nutrition plan! Diana wanted to make sure I told her if there was any difference in my milk production which made me feel really comfortable! I LOVED being back on track, back on a schedule and holding myself accountable by checking in with Diana weekly with my stats and a progress pic. When I went back to work full time, around 6.5 months postpartum, I had to find a whole new schedule so in order to still nurse my daughter in the morning before work and get the workouts in I would wake up at 4am, have breakfast while I nursed her, put her back down to sleep, did my strength training and cardio (went for a run with my dog), showered, got ready and by that time my daughter was up in time for me to spend 20 minutes before running to work!
Actually, I still have the same schedule, minus nursing my daughter at 4am. Now I just have breakfast at 4am, work out and she wakes up just in time for me to nurse her before getting ready for work! It’s not my favorite thing waking up that early but I feel like superwoman on my way in to work knowing that I completed all of that before I even started my work day. AND, the whole point of getting up so early and getting it done that early is so I can come home and spend the rest of my day with my family!
Right now I am just maintaining my weight and trying to get more and more muscle! I feel great and I treat myself to something fun to eat and don’t feel guilty because I know how hard I work! It can be exhausting trying to play the role of a career woman, a wife, a mother and try to stay healthy and fit but nothing worth it, is going to be easily attainable!!! I know there are countless women that wear all of these hats every day and we all wear them differently! We do what works best for our family and for us! It’s a complete juggling act and I can’t count how many times I’ve dropped the balls but I scoop ‘em back up and continue! (Yea, I know that was ridiculously cheesy)
The only thing you can do is try and keep at it and do the best you can do! And that’s exactly what I do every day. I suggest you contact Hitch Fit and get started! It will change the way you look at food, nutrition and exercise, forever!”
