How amazing is this transformation, WOW… She did so amazing, Its been almost 3 months since we shot her after pics and the word is she has dropped to a size 2!!!! Amazing to hear that Her and her husband not only got to their goals but are continuing to work hard and get to even higher levels!!!
While only a few words, they hold so much meaning for me…a sense of accomplishment, perseverance, strength, and yes, even a bit of pride. The last sixteen weeks have taken me on an amazing journey, not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. I hope that my story will resonate with you and perhaps encourage you to take that first transformational step to becoming Hitch Fit.
I started my journey from a place I had been time and time again. The clothes in my closet have always spanned 3-4 dress sizes and at the beginning of my Hitch Fit story, I am sad to say I was close to bursting the seams of the largest items in the closet. I was also at a very low point energy-wise. I was a full-time working mother of two and by the end of each day, I didn’t have much left for my family. Unfortunately, they were the recipients of whatever leftovers remained, which wasn’t much. I found that I often didn’t have the energy to entertain my girls’ requests to play outside, go the park, play a game, or even read a book. Even more depressing was the sound of my voice emitting a multitude of excuses and alternatives when they begged to go to the pool or the water park. The only time I wanted to even consider donning a swimsuit was in the sanctity of my own backyard, and even that wasn’t a very enjoyable notion. Something had to change! This was not the person, role model, and mother I wanted to be!!
The idea of Hitch Fit was not new to me. One of our friends had successfully completed the Hitch Fit program and another was in the process of her amazing transformational journey. While I hadn’t seriously considered doing the program myself, I found myself visiting the website the evening of Friday, March 18. I couldn’t stop reading the stories and seeing the transformations others had experienced. These were real people with the same types of challenges, time constraints and obligations that I had. I found that not only had they been able to carve enough time into their busy schedules to successfully complete the program, they encountered something beyond their initial weight-loss goals…a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction with life. This is what I wanted! Matt and I signed up for the Couples Bootcamp with Micah that very night!!
I was very anxious to start the program. I knew it would be difficult. I had seen the sacrifices our friends had made. And I’ll be honest, I had never been much of a fitness buff. Sure, I was happy to take a walk around the neighborhood and the bowflex in the basement hadn’t accumulated too many inches of dust. But to work out almost every day and to incorporate cardio, strength training and abdominal work…never! And then there was the nutritional aspect of the program. How would I ever pass up the foods I enjoy so much, particularly chocolate! I told myself I could do it…it was only 16 weeks. Or was it?
It’s funny how our perspectives change over time. At the beginning of the program, I managed to convince myself I could do it…it’s only “x” more weeks. I can keep the workouts going, I can keep passing up the trips to the taco stand for lunch, I can hold off on that piece of cheesecake for a few more weeks. Yet somewhere in the course of my journey, these assurances turned into something unexpected….a comment to my husband the night before our “after” pictures were taken: “I can’t imagine living my life any other way.” Whoa!! Did I just say that? When did that happen? When did I turn the bend from convincing myself I could hold off a bit longer to the point where this is my life and I can’t imagine it any other way?
I can’t answer that question specifically…but I can tell you, it’s an amazing place to be! I am so grateful to Micah, to my husband, and to all of my friends and family for the support and encouragement through this journey. When I filled out my initial questionnaire, my goal was to lose 20 pounds and gain enough energy to spend quality time with my family. As Micah recently said, I smoked that! Here I am 16 weeks later, 33 pounds lighter, 13% less body fat, with umpteen times more energy, and a new confidence and satisfaction with life and the future ahead.
I know it’s tough! There are times you want to turn back or just tell yourself, I’ll do the workout tomorrow. But the beauty of the Hitch Fit journey is that Micah is there for you every step of the way. He customizes the plan for YOU! He develops a workout program for YOU! And he pushes you to places you never thought you could go. He truly cares about the success of his clients…he cares about YOU!
Thank you, Hitch Fit! Thank you for designing a program that works for me, that allows me to work out in my own home at times that fit into my schedule. Thank you for teaching me about the power of food and how it can be used to fuel my body. Thank you for helping me find the tools, energy and strength to live a healthy, energetic, and fit life. My family thanks you, too! In fact, it’s time for me to go. My 7-year old just asked me if we can go for a run together. Now, how cool is that!
