Kerri Sheds 20 Pounds Body Fat Weight Loss
Today’s transformation is Kerri. She was inspired to join Hitch Fit when she saw the transformations of her friends Chad and Carrie Evans. What I love about Kerri’s story is how she overcame so many doubts and fears that she had, she really tapped into a side of herself that she didn’t know was there. She is a mom and about to hit age 40, and she achieved a body fat percentage of 13% during her 12 week Lose Weight Program. She wasn’t “overweight”, but she also wasn’t happy with where she was and wanted to achieve something greater. I’m so proud of her, I encourage you to take the time to read her story, she also gives some GREAT advice for anyone thinking of doing this for themselves! Congratulations Kerri on an amazing job!!

Kerri’s Story:
“I first became aware of Hitch Fit when a couple of my friends, Chad and Carrie Evans, had their transformation stories posted on Facebook. I have to say I was impressed, so I looked into the program online. And that’s where it stopped. No alcohol? No Diet Coke? No way. Then a few months later I saw another one of my friends, Marla Lovelady, complete the program and she looked AMAZING. So I started looking into the program again.
In my teenage years, I was pretty active and a good healthy weight around 115-120. My weight has fluctuated through the years, with my heaviest at 156 in my 20s. I straightened up my diet and lifestyle in my 30s and got down to the 130-135 range, but I could never get back into those magical 120s and thought I never would again. With my 40s knocking at my door, I really wanted to try something new. And since I had heard and seen such great things about Hitch Fit, I decided to just go for it.
When I was 36, I was holding steady around 135, but then I hurt my back. I went from doing step aerobics and kickboxing to not being able to do anything for at least 6 months (and gaining even more weight–up to 142). So I cancelled my gym membership and started doing home workout DVDs and video game exercising. But those didn’t challenge me enough to make a difference at all. Plus, all the extra snacking and nightly cocktail made any efforts at losing weight impossible.
When I signed up with Diana, the program looked very overwhelming. She said she planned on me losing about 20 to 25 pounds and getting down to 16-18% body fat. I honestly didn’t believe it would happen, but I did know I would do my best. I was ready for this!
The first week was intense. There was so much more food than I was used to. It was very hard getting all the meals in. And after the first full body strength training, I could hardly walk! But by the third day, I was already upping my weights and feeling very powerful.
I think being able to actually eat good, normal food was one reason I was so successful. Last January, I had tried the HCG drops, and did lose weight with those. But it was definitely not a healthy way to lose weight. I lost my hair and muscle tone and looked and felt terrible. Hitch Fit is a complete 180 from that. The food you’re eating is clean and it makes you feel so good.
One thing I’ve never been good at is running. The first day I literally couldn’t run a block. So I started carrying a stopwatch and would run a minute and then walk a minute. The next week I upped the running to 2 minutes and 1 min walking, etc. By the 8th or 9th week, I found I could run 4 miles without stopping. It was an incredibly empowering feeling. The whole program is empowering actually. Before Hitch Fit, I would get so frustrated because I thought I was doing everything right, but seeing no results. Hitch Fit makes you feel (and see) results almost immediately, and without the dumb gimmicks.
Why I would choose Hitch Fit over other programs or going it alone:
1-The weekly communication with the trainer provides a great sense of accountability.
2-I was able to ask questions and get advice.
3-The program was modifiable (for example, after joining a gym half way through my transformation, Diana sent over a new workout routine, and she didn’t even charge me!).
4-The program is custom. Diana took into account my prior injuries (bulging discs) and adjusted the routine so that I still got results without reinjuring myself.
5-Diana actually believed me when I said I have bad wrists and can’t put pressure on them (i.e. doing pushups). I see the young bootcamp trainer at my gym having groups of people doing things that look like it will injure them. If they say it hurts he belittles them. It’s not like that with this program. It feels good to be believed and have a program customized to work around those injuries.
6-You get this program for life. You can go back and refer to the program whenever you want.
7-The Facebook forum is awesome. The community members are all in the same boat you’re in, or have been. There’s always great advice and great motivation. Plus it’s interesting to see where everyone is logging in from around the world.
8-Diana and Micah are actually really cool, nice people, and so inspiring!
Things I thought I could never do, but did it (and if I can do it, anyone can do it):
1-Get up early to workout. I was NOT a morning person. I never thought I would enjoy getting up and running, but it’s something that I love to do and actually feel dumpy when I sleep in now.
2-Give up Diet Coke. I was a Diet Coke junkie. I drank a minimum of 2 Diet Cokes a day for at least 20 years. That’s what I was the most scared of giving up. But as it turns out, I was so busy planning every single thing that was going in my mouth, and planning the work outs, that not having soda didn’t even really bother me.
3-Give up alcohol. The first public event was a little scary, and girls’ weekend at the lake was definitely different. But I survived and was happy to not have a hangover the next day.
4-Enjoy strength training. I’ve always loved group cardio classes, but never the weights. Now I truly enjoy feeling the burn and seeing the toned results.
5-Pose for pictures and have my story posted for the whole world to see. Anyone that knows me knows I’m super shy. But Marla told me how happy it made her for me to be inspired by her. So I just hope my story will inspire someone else.
Things that helped throughout the process:
1-Reading other peoples’ transformation stories. This program has REAL people with FANTASTIC results.
2-My husband and daughter. My husband was super supportive throughout the process. He never made me feel like I was depriving him of my time and he even cooked his own meals! And, more importantly, he never tried to sabotage my transformation by bringing around tempting foods. And my daughter was a great workout partner. It’s much more fun to workout with a buddy.
3-The Facebook forum.
4-My inspiration, Marla. She was always a good cheerleader.
5-And finally, Diana. She was very supportive, but also tough when she needed to be.
Do it people!”
