Sexy Weather Girl Iris Hermosillo Sheds 37 Pounds and Improves Health with Hitch Fit

I’m so happy to share today’s transformation story with you. Iris Hermosillo holds a special place in both mine and Micah’s hearts, it has been such an honor to be a part of this little lady’s journey to a healthier and happier version of herself!! If you live in the Kansas City area, you may recognize Iris as a former meteorologist and reporter on KCTV5 and KSMO here in Kansas City, she was also the host of Que Pasa KC on KSMO. She decided she wanted to change her body and her life and become Hitch Fit. Not only that, she decided to publicly track her journey to fitness on Que Pasa so that she could inspire others to make better choices for themselves too! Iris made a lot of changes, she worked hard everyday that she came into the gym, and even though there were ups and downs along the journey, she always got herself back on track in order to get to the final destination. Iris shed 37 pounds and 16% body fat throughout her journey. She went from a body fat percentage in the 40’s, to one in the 20’s, this not only has allowed her to look better visually, but has had a significant impact on her overall health and risk of developing diseases such as diabetes. Since her transformation Iris received a job offer in her home town of Phoenix, Arizona! She is now doing what she loves and able to be closer to her family! We are SO proud of Iris, and thrilled to share her story with you today!

Iris’ Story:
“When I think back to who I was before beginning this journey with Hitch Fit, it’s tough to believe that I actually allowed myself to get to such a negative place. This is especially true considering I’m in such a positive place now, post transformation.
Like many people, I was always active when I was younger in high school but as I began getting older my activity level gradually became less and less. In college, I gained the freshman fifteen and I carried that extra weight with me through the remaining years of school. When I began my career, I did manage to introduce some exercise into my routine, which helped me maintain my weight. I didn’t lose any weight but at least I didn’t gain much either. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I cut exercise out of my routine completely. There was no particular reason that I stopped going to the gym, it was simply laziness. In addition to my lack of exercise, I have a love affair with food. I am definitely a social eater, an emotional eater, and whatever other type of eater category exists. This was (and at times still is) definitely my biggest problem. Of course, over eating unhealthy food and not working out are the perfect combination for weight gain. I quickly packed on the pounds but the entire time I was in denial. I didn’t want to believe that my weight was “that bad”. But it’s hard to avoid the obvious when you work in television – you’re an easy target for scrutiny.
Some viewers began sending emails offering critiques that my clothing was too snug. I began buying bigger sizes in hopes of looking better but I couldn’t continue to hide the fact that I was becoming more and more overweight. I became less and less comfortable with my appearance and that was when my weight began affecting personality. I became less outgoing and I became less confident. Many days, I would wish that I had a job behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera. I was in a rut when I met Micah and Diana and I needed them to get me out of it. They did.
It has been a very long journey, over half a year in the making. I’ve tripped over many bumps along the way but I’ve also had many moments of feeling proud of myself.
Overcoming my love of unhealthy foods and learning to enjoy my daily visits to the gym were probably my biggest challenges. I overcame those challenges. I’ve learned to love food that’s healthy and I’ve also found new, enjoyable ways to stay active. Micah and Diana were thankfully very patient with me and they were some of my biggest motivators. Another motivation was each time the number on the scale would drop. I knew then that it had been a good week and that there was indeed a light at the end of the tunnel.
Now that I’ve come out of that tunnel and have completed my transformation with Hitch Fit, I can honestly say that I’ve gone back to being that happier person I was before I put on the weight. I feel better, I am more confident about the way I look, and I know that I am healthier. I also feel like I have gained so much knowledge. I am now more aware of my choices and know how to make the right decisions. This was definitely a lifestyle change not just a diet. Admittedly, there are still days, post-transformation, when I don’t eat so well or when I opt for an afternoon on the couch rather than at the gym, but unlike before I’m now aware of where those types of choices can lead me and I have absolutely no desire to return to that negative place. So I let myself slack for a day and then jump back on track the next day.
I am very excited about my future now. There have been so many new opportunities for me since my transformation and I truly believe that my transformation has made them a possibility. There are also many more goals I have set for myself and I hope that my new found motivation will help get me to those goals soon. My life is much more balanced now and I have Micah, Diana, and Hitch Fit to thank.”
