INSPIRATIONAL WEIGHT LOSS: Mother of 3 Takes Charge of Her Health Sheds 30 Pounds
30 Pound Weight Loss
I've got an inspiration filled story to share with you today. The story of a woman who chose to tap into her inner strength and take charge of her health and fitness, in circumstances that may have caused someone of weaker spirit to give up.
Leslie is a 45 year old mother of 3, who despite some major challenges and obstacles, determined that she was going to make positive choices and get herself to a healthy place. Leslie was inspired by Hitch Fit transformation Brandi, and what is such a cool twist to this story is that after Leslie had received her Hitch Fit Online Personal Training Program, she started it but didn't check in and let me know how much progress she had made. Brandi happened to see her a couple months later, a new, fit and healthy version, and asked what she had been doing. When Brandi found out it was Hitch Fit she told Leslie that she MUST let me know!! And I'm so glad that she did!! When I saw how incredible she had done, and heard what a challenge things had been along the way I hoped that Leslie would share her story in order to inspire others out there who may be struggling with similar circumstances. So glad that she was willing. Congratulations Leslie!

Leslie's Story:
"I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and moved to KC in 1995. My entire family is still back in Memphis. I come from a very Southern, tight-knit, traditional family. In my house, it was just me, my mom and my dad. My extended family is huge.
I am 45 and a single mom of 3 amazing, beautiful and unique girls. My oldest daughter, Payton (20) is a sophomore at MU in Columbia, my middle daughter, Henley (18), is a Freshman at Maplewoods and my youngest daughter, Meg (15) is a freshman at Staley. I am passionate about being a mom.
In December 2012, I lost my Dad suddenly to pancreatic cancer. My girls and I had to suddenly go back to Memphis to take care of everything. We traveled back Christmas afternoon to plan the arrangements. My Dad still lived at home and my mom was in a nursing home due to multiple strokes. I spent the next 2 months trying to work full time and take care of his estate.
In February 2013, I started having major kidney issues and was in the hospital twice. I found out I had a staghorn mass in my right kidney and it was jeopardizing the function of my kidney. I had kidney surgery in March 2013 to remove the mass. I was in the hospital for 5 days. The night after surgery, as I was recovering in the hospital, I got a phone call that my mom had passed away from complications of a massive stroke and heart failure. I just remember laying there, looking up at the ceiling and thinking, what else could possibly happen. My mom and dad had been married for over 50 years, living in the same house I was raised in and they died within 3 months of each other. There i was laying in a hospital bed, my girls at home, my family in Memphis, my parents now gone and I have to travel back to Memphis AGAIN to bury my mom. But I'm laying there with a huge tube coming out of my back from surgery. How am I going to do this!!
I had to delay the funeral for a week so I could get myself strong enough to travel. My girls and I travel back to Memphis once again to say good bye again to one of the most influential and important people in our lives. I remember standing in the funeral home, watching all the old and new faces walk down to greet me and seeing 5 people from my high school and old friends of my parents, people I have not seen in 20 years or more and it was like watching a tv show of my life just flashing before me. When I left Memphis to come back to Kansas City, I had no idea the work that was ahead dealing with their estate from 500 miles away. In May 2013, I hit a wall and it was like a bomb went off. I was 20-25 lbs over weight, tired, stressed, dealing with kidney stones, blood pressure high and not happy. I knew I had to make some changes, but didn't know where to begin. In June, I was on Facebook and saw a post from Brandi. I had planned a trip to Destin with my girls so I started a few diet changes and also started some cardio each morning. I was losing some, but not seeing the changes I wanted.
At the beginning of Fall 2013, I decided to try Hitch Fit online. As soon as I started, I began to have kidney issues again, so my workouts were delayed for a short time. Once I was feeling better, I started the diet plan and workout Hitch Fit sent to me. Within the first week of eating clean and working out, I was seeing visible changes that blew my mind. I was feeling better, thinking more clear, maintaining energy and I was getting mentally and physically stronger. I would kill it at the gym and then found myself getting more and more inspired to make bigger and bolder changes in my life.
I left the legal field in a full time capacity, after 22 years, and decided to pursue my passion in sales and marketing and get my Real Estate license. I was tired of reacting to what life put in front of me, and decided to start making things happen for myself. Everyone thought I was crazy and asked me if I was scared to death to make such a drastic change. I thought, I buried both parents, went through so many health issues, was working full time for someone else, raising 3 girls, HELL NO I was not scared. If 2013 didn't take me down, then I have nothing to fear.
I am feeling great and in the best shape of my life. I went from 148 to 118 and love to shop again. JEANS. That is the best thing to try on. I think I am happier fitting into the jeans I love than the bikini's!
I have maintained my hard work and have a different outlook on what I eat, what I drink and how I exercise. I have started adding yoga to my routine and it balances everything so well. I fluctuate from 118 to 122 and as long as I stay in that zone, I am good. My blood pressure has been down for months, no kidney issues, everything seems to be back to normal.
I eat clean about 80% of the time, I work out, do yoga and feel better than I did in my 30's. The Hitch Fit workout plan taught me how to workout and lift weights the proper way. The eating guidelines paved a way for me to adapt a better way of eating into my daily life. Its a total and complete life change. It transforms your mind as well as your body.
THANK you Diana for offering such a fantastic opportunity to share my story, and to be a part of a program that works and LASTS.
I will email you a separate email with the photos Brandi said to send you. Let me know if you need anything else and I will be happy to get it to you. Again, it was great meeting you and I am so thankful for Brandi for inspiring me to look into Hitch Fit to begin with."
