New Year New You

newyearnewyou

2017 has arrived in all its glory! Now that you’ve had time to celebrate, make resolutions, settle down, and break 1 or 2 of those classic New Year resolutions, let’s talk about YOU.

Every new year brings with it the chance to improve yourself. 2016 is fresh! We’ve only had 3 days of it! There 363 (it’s a leap year, ya’ll) more days to sculpt an entirely new you. Before you get tired just thinking about changing everything about you, take a look at the definition of the word “new”.

NEW
1. (adj) not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time.

2. (adj) already existing but seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time

3. (adv) newly; recently

That’s a bit different than you thought, right? We aren’t seeking to create, from nothing, an entirely separate human being with your personality and facial features. Hitch Fit wants to help you discover something about yourself this new year that you didn’t realize was there before. We want to take what already exists and help you see, experience, or acquire traits about yourself that are “new” to you!

Rediscovering You

Instead of making a few rash resolutions, take the idea of a new you seriously. Spend some some time focusing on just who you are in the first place. Grab a pen and paper – even better, use a journal so that you can keep track of these answers – and answer these questions:

Are you happy where you are in life?

Where do you want to be in the New Year?

Why do you want to be there?

What are you good at?

What are you not good at?

What do you wish you were good at?

Why do you wish you were good at it?

Now, take a look at the answers you just wrote down. There is nothing you need to change about yourself in the new year to accomplish your goals! You simply need to highlight them, focus on them, and work on them. Evaluate what you need to improve against the end results you wish to achieve, and you’ll get there!

Chances are, some of you have health and fitness topics somewhere in this list. Healthy living can be a way of life! And the fact that it’s on your list is already proof you’ve got it in you. Cultivating a love of healthy living isn’t necessary, because you already want it – and that’s half the battle. Keep writing down your dreams, improving your weaknesses, and focusing on your strengths this year. Want some accountability? Comment below with one of the answers to your questions, and let us help you on the journey. Hitch Fit is behind you 100%!!
