Great Transformation: Online Competition Prep Client and Mother of 2 Gets in Bikini Model Shape Places 3rd with WBFF

Today’s transformation is a very special one to me! It’s not every day that you get to help your own sister go through a personal transformation, so when my sister Linda let Micah and I know at the end of 2012 that she wanted to step out of her comfort zone, see what level of condition she could get in, and step on stage to compete at the WBFF Central US Championsips 2013 here in Kansas City, we were both excited. Since the beginning of my days as a competitor, when I lived in San Antonio, Linda has stood by my side, literally put a roof over my head and supported me through every challenge that stood in the way, but for this show the shoe was now on the other foot! She was dedicated, more dedicated than most, driven and determined to be her best on that stage! We couldn’t have asked more of her! Linda is a real estate agent, dedicated wife and mother of 2 beautiful girls, so deciding that she wanted to add WBFF Diva Bikini Model to her list of titles certainly presented obstacles at times, she stayed focused and I couldn’t have been more proud of her on show day as she got glammed up to take the stage for the first time! She did an amazing job, and looked stunning, and ended up taking home the 3rd place trophy in the 35+ WBFF Diva Bikini Model division!! So proud of her, and excited to hear that she now is falling in love with the sport and is determined to do it again in a couple years when she turns 40! Throughout her transformation she went from 29% body fat down to 14%, and scale went from 142 pounds down to 118. Congratulations Linda on an amazing job. Very proud of you!

Linda’s Story:

“My name is Linda Mosse. I am a Mom of 4 and 6-year old girls. I am a wife. I am our household manager as well as a full-time Realtor. With all those hats to wear, I sometimes felt like all my energy was going out, without much recharge. I love my family dearly, but just needed something to help me lose those last few pounds from having the girls, and help me focus on something that was just for me. I had considered doing a show before I had my second daughter, but after that, I thought there was just no way. I couldn’t remember the last time I wore a bikini and felt good about it. I had gained 50 pounds with each child, losing it the first time, but not completing the task the second time around!

So, when Micah mentioned at Christmas (2012)… why don’t you do a show? I thought… ok.. why not? I can do this! I’m ready. It took a while to get in the habit of clean eating, mostly because it is harder when your family is not necessarily eating what you are, and it usually requires preparing something separate for them. That was challenging. Going to the gym, especially towards the end of the competition prep, was very challenging with schedule juggling… but the progress I was making was worth it. Even being able to say that I had not eaten chocolate, or sugar, or had a drink of wine since Christmas, made me proud. The process was challenging when it came to special occasions where friends and family wanted to go out to eat, but I always brought my food, explaining I was on a restricted diet, and had no trouble with any restaurant. Some friends did not understand what I was doing or why, and chose to not want to hang out with me during the process. That was hard, but ultimately it showed that I needed to spend more time with other friends that were encouraging, or that were hoping for my success.

I remember when my sister Diana underwent her transformation to compete in her first show. She was living with me and my husband, and I watched her work very hard, and eat all the vegetables that I didn’t think there was any way I could stomach! And I was also uncertain how it would go having my little sister be the one to train me once I got within 12 weeks of the show… not to mention the fact that my brother-in-law coached me the first 8 weeks, and I had to take those pictures to send him weekly, and tell him when weird things were going on with my body! Despite that, and the fact that we did it all online, so I was hoping I did it right!, it worked pretty amazingly. I trusted Diana and Micah both to guide me to where I needed to be, as they were the experts. The other surprising thing is I found I really enjoyed the one vegetable I was certain I would never master or enjoy…brussels sprouts!

Being on stage was like a dream…one that starts out a bit scary, but then really ended up being spectacular. I was terrified.. the shoes, the audience, the posing… but when I looked at myself in the mirror, I realized I had done it, and this was my moment. Seeing what was possible with my body made all the hard work absolutely worth it. Placing 3rd in my category, as well as in the top 10 in the open category, really was like the icing on the cake. Seeing my girls when I got home, and their pride in me, and their absolute joy at my trophy and medal… made me realize I am the most blessed woman in the world. Truly, God gave me a husband and girls that 100% supported me through that process, long days, eating food that didn’t smell good to them!, and crankiness towards the end. They had faith in me, encouraged me, and were just amazing. Just for that realization alone, to be able to look back and see that the most vital part of the journey was the fulfillment inside that I do get from my family, from my relationship with God, made it worth it. Having the ability to feel very strong and healthy, at this time in my life, and my age, that is pretty amazing too.

Coming home after that experience was a little tricky, trying to come back to a balanced eating plan, and struggling with a fear that I would gain weight back right away nagged at me for a few weeks. However, with a little bit of planning (yes, still the planning of the meals), and getting right back in the gym, has helped me overcome that fear. My plans for the future are to get as strong as I can now, so that in 2 years, when I turn 40, I can go back on that stage and take 1st place:)
I could not, nor would not have wanted to do this journey without my sister. She is an amazing inspiration to me, and I admire and respect her SOOO Much more after this process. It is also an amazing testament to her and Micah’s character and dedication to take on a family member during a time of transition like this… for me or anyone. They are tough when they need to be, and reassuring and totally uplifting when you really need it! Thanks guys so much… for my new way of life!”
