Bikini Competition Prep

I'm so thrilled to share Eliza's story with you today. This little lady from Utah began contacting me at the end of 2011, she wanted to do her very first Bikini competition and wanted to do the Hitch Fit Competition Prep program. She jumped in on the first of the year and dedicated to her goal. The thing that I loved most about working with Eliza wasn't seeing how her body changed over the course of our time together, it was seeing how her attitude and her confidence in herself changed. Week by week, we worked through mental and emotional challenges that she was facing, my main goal with her was to help her be a stronger more empowered woman, something which she had every right to be, and in the end I feel that this mission was accomplished! Eliza ended up placing 3rd at her first competition in the Novice category, she decided she loved the stage and wanted to keep working for another show 6 weeks away, so we just kept right on moving forward, she tightened up even more and at her next stage had the confidence where she decided to go for the Open category this time, she landed 3rd place again in this more challenging division! I'm incredibly proud of Eliza, she worked hard and was willing to and ready to dig deep inside to find out what she was truly made of. I believe you will be seeing more of Eliza in the future, and I'm excited to see what she pursues next :-)

Eliza's Story:
"Looking back on my journey with Hitch Fit, so many positive words and thoughts come about. If there was just one word used to describe my experience, it would be CONFIDENCE.
Ever since I have graduated from high school, I have collected fitness magazines, which means I have A LOT of them. I read them all front to back and would try the workouts and recipes. I learned about eating "clean" but never knew how many calories I should consume or how to structure the proper eating plan for myself. The best part of every magazine for me was the in the back…I had to read about the recent competitions and see the stats of the women that have recently competed. The motivation, discipline and beauty of these women is something I admired. I always wanted their figure, confidence and drive the exuded. I never thought I could be one of them or do anything that they did, but I got so much excitement seeing what women could do. When my husband and I met a couple of years ago, I told him about my obsession and how it was a dream to one day do a competition. He thought it was nuts. He had always thought of the competitions of something along the lines of bodybuilding. He thought it meant I would become big and bulky, but the more I talked about it and the more educated he became, it didn't seem like such a bad idea to him. Well, after we got married my amazing husband was determined to get me into a competition. So, we started to research local gyms/trainers. We met with a few and decided on one to work with. While my trainer gave me decent workouts now and then, there was so much lacking. I didn't feel I was receiving adequate guidance most of the time and when it came to nutrition he would just say, "Don't eat any carbs for this many days," or something along those lines. I knew what carbs were, but didn't know how much of everything else I should be eating. Also, what I considered carbs and proteins was completely off. There was so much left out. My husband would hear me complain over and over and thought I was just getting discouraged and trying to get out of competing. I knew there was something more. I knew there had to be something out there that was really laid out for me. What I was receiving from this trainer wasn't structure and without confidence in my training there was no way I was going to develop the confidence and physique needed to step on stage.
So, I started to research A LOT of programs. Not just local, but anything I could. My husband wasn't going to let me back out of doing a competition. It was something I had always wanted to do and he wanted me to succeed. So I was determined to find the best trainer out there that would make it so I would be confident stepping on stage for the first time.
When I found Hitch Fit, I was hooked!!! I looked at their website every day for the whole month of December. Reading all the experiences and seeing all the before and after pictures I was sure this is what I was looking for. I e-mailed both Diana and Micah separately and they were both so quick to respond and answer all my questions. I was shocked. I never even got that attention from my trainer that I saw multiple times a week. They answered every question that I had and were happy to do so.
When I approached my husband about the program he was skeptical. Since it was online he was worried about the accountability side of things. Would I really stay motivated and would the program be what it takes to prepare me like I wanted to be? He was concerned about how legitimate on online personal trainer could be.
Well, New Year's Eve I took the leap! I had told my husband it was the right decision and I felt like it was the best option for me. I was excited about it being an online program. I was going to succeed. I was going to go to the gym everyday not because I was meeting a trainer there, but because I making the decision to go on my own. I knew it was going to become a lifestyle.
We all make New Year's resolutions and this was going to be the year to be the healthiest me I could be. The first of January was a Sunday, so I couldn't wait for Monday to get a response from them on the purchase I made. Man, did I ever underestimate them. First thing Sunday, I had an e-mail in my inbox from Diana. Yes…on a holiday. Her excitement and encouragement in her first e-mail was so motivating and my confidence in what I was doing and I knew the choice I made on who to work with was definitely the right one. . Even though she was in Kansas and I was in Utah, I still got everything I needed to get started, and more.
A day or so later I got my first phase of the program and I hit the ground running. The information was so in depth. Not only was everything laid out for me in grams of what I needed, but tips on how to make things better and best of all, Diana was at my finger tips and willing to answer any question I may have had. On top of that, it was all structured specifically for ME, my schedule and my goals. The first week flew by and at the end of it I had lost more than six pounds. That was more success than I had with local trainers after months of working with them. The next couple of weeks were great as well and every day I was becoming stronger. I see my husband every few weeks and when he came the first time after me being on the program only three weeks he said the program had already been worth every penny, he was no longer skeptical. My motivation was at an all-time high. I didn't know if I was going to place in my competition or not, but I did know I was already looking better than I ever had, and had more confidence than I ever could have imagined.
There were weeks that I struggled of course. I questioned whether I giving everything 110%. I knew I had the tools, but was I doing my best with them. During these times of doubt and question it was amazing how encouraging Diana was. Positive affirmations are something I never practiced before, but with prompting from Diana I started using them and that just increased my success even more. This resulted in me believing in myself, and the funny thing it wasn't just in the gym and nutrition…it was in every area of life.
Ten weeks down, and I received even more information from Diana. She laid out everything I would need for a competition and what to do every day for a week leading up to the competition. When I showed up to the competition, I obviously didn't have my trainer there, but I had a bag packed full of everything I would need, and was more prepared than the experienced competitors.
Then came the actual moment to step on stage. It was truly a rush of emotions that can't be described. I walked onto that stage feeling the best I ever had in my whole life. Not just physically, but mentally as well. My first ever competition…I competed with so many women who were there with their trainers right there telling them what to do. Mine wasn't there in person but she had prepared me for this moment.
I ended up taking third in the novice category and was over joyous, but I wasn't satisfied. I had to step on stage again. I e-mailed Diana the next day and she was more than willing to help me train for a competition only six weeks away. My husband wondered whether it was going to be worth it, or if I was just going to get the same program and could use what I had already learned. I had already dropped more than 15 pounds and felt so good. I didn't know if it was possible to feel better about my body than I already did, but I knew I needed Diana's assistance to help me train for the next competition.
This time the training was different, but so great. My motivation had increased tenfold because I knew then what it was like to step on stage. I wanted to do well, and I was determined to do it. I e-mailed Diana multiple times a week to check in for my own reassurance and she was there every moment. Her encouraging words were amazing and my confidence was growing every day. What is even more crazy is my body was transforming even more than it already had. I was getting even tighter; I was actually surprised to find myself thinking my body was like the women in the magazines.
The six weeks of prep flew by, and I was ready. I looked amazing for my first competition and I never would have imagined I could accomplish this.
I stepped on stage knowing I had done everything right. I was down more than 5 pounds from my first competition. It doesn't sound like a lot, but when I was already lean to begin with it made a big difference. Overall, I had lost over 20 pounds. I was going to own the stage. I had the best trainer out there and looked amazing. I was ready to show it off.
This time, I placed third again but in the open category. I figure three is my lucky number, but for me I took more than first. I had learned to push myself to places I never imagined I could. I gained confidence in myself. I had become a better and stronger person mentally and physically. But the best part, I had gained the knowledge and confidence needed to continue to live a healthy lifestyle after it was all over.
When I say the word to describe my journey is confidence, it is confidence in every way. It is confidence that I am doing the best I can, to be the best I can be. It is confidence that I am healthy, both mentally and physically and nourishing my body with proper food and nutrition. It is confidence to take on every day with a positive attitude and enjoy every moment. It is confidence to pull into the gym parking lot and not turn around because it looks crowded…I am no longer intimidated.
Anyone considering the program should be warned. Hitch Fit won't just transform your body; they will transform your life."
