48 Year old mother of 2 Sheds Belly Fat and Gets in Amazing Shape with Bikini Model Program

48 Year old mother of 2 Sheds Belly Fat and Gets in Amazing Shape with Bikini Model Program!

Today’s transformation is Alma. I’m so excited to share her story because at 48 years old, a mother of 2, a loving wife and working professional, she is an incredible inspiration!! Alma was so much fun to work with. What I loved most about her transformation was how much she discovered about herself through this process. As she learned to believe in what she was capable of achieving, she just continued to make more and more progress!! She chose to do a Bikini Model Program to take herself to the next level. She shed 14 pounds, and finally got rid of the excess stomach fat that had been bothering her for years! Now at a lean 17% body fat, she has transitioned over into a Maintenance Program. She is kicking butt on that too and has now learned how to add more variety into your nutrition, reduce her training volume and maintain the body she worked so hard for! Congratulations Alma on an amazing job!!
Alma’s Stats:

Alma’s Story:
“I am a 48 year old female, wife and mother of two and working professional.  Since the physical education days in grade school and throughout high school, I have enjoyed physical fitness particularly the feeling of being fit, learning new sport skills, being with like-minded people and overcoming personal challenges. I appreciated the confidence and overall feel-good attitude it always seemed to give me.  In college, I took up group aerobic exercise classes and became a fitness instructor.  It kept me fit and I also entered local 10 Kilometer running races.  Mountain biking, gravel road riding, rock climbing, adventure racing and two marathons kept me going during the adult years before-kids era.  My husband, Bryan and I loved spending time on these excursions as it kept us fit throughout our early adult years.  We took vacations around these events that always proved to be great adventures and memories to last a lifetime.  Then came the kids.  This time period did prove to be a challenge.  I still managed to work out but somewhat inconsistently.  My body started to reflect my slowing pace and somewhat noncommittal sense in fitness.  I was getting soft in the middle and frankly everywhere else.  Childbearing also took a toll on my body as I developed a condition called urinary incontinence.  This is a relatively common condition due in whole to child-birth in my case and it affected my ability to exercise and overall my quality of life.  I had surgery to repair this and I highly recommend anyone who has this issue to see their physician and discuss options.  Modern medicine had a solution for my case.  We no longer have to suffer in silence.
In 2008 I returned to fitness in earnest through the program entitled P90X.  I loved it and Tony Horton remains an inspiration.  But a year ago I hit a plateau and I didn’t care much for the extra weight that stubbornly stayed around my middle.  I ate pretty healthy considering I am a dietitian but honestly, I was overeating on the carbohydrates – still practicing the endurance training lifestyle of so long ago!  Denial is a powerful thing, even to the most learned individuals.  I chuckle at myself when I think about it.
I desperately needed something new, something that was challenging but yet I could fit it in a busy schedule of work and family.  I also needed a program that allowed me to perform at home for its ease and time-efficiency.  P90X proved that could be done.
I found Hitch Fit online during an internet search but it took me a year to actually commit to the program.  In doing the research, I was intimidated by the sheer number of hours one would have to commit to but the transformations they highlighted were phenomenal.  Who could argue!  I did look around at other programs and trainers but I kept returning to HitchFit.  HitchFit seemed to naturally and unselfishly give focus to its clients’ needs – compassion but yet no excuses.  Micah and Diana’s blog and newsletter came from the heart, with the focus of addressing personal challenges and successes.  The videos and written testimonials are all about the clients.  And HitchFit fundraising for local and international causes seemed to be the cherry on the cake. Micah and Diana are very considerate people.
In August 2012, my fountain-of-youth-fitness program began!  The bikini model program was tough but I was dedicated to it.  Shoot, I had lots of pressure to prove that I could do it like all the other folks before me could!  If they could do it with the daily demands of work and family, so can I.  The competitive part of me came out.  Plus, I had Diana to report to and I didn’t want to embarrass myself with excuses.  Also, quitting was simply not an option.  I loved the variety both in diet and exercise routines that it offered.  Plus, I was really interested in learning the diet perspective of bodybuilders I was going to put to practice for myself.  The program offered three exercise phases and two diet phases that build upon itself placing more and more demands on both aspects.  The next phase would up the ante from its previous phase always proving that the earlier phase was more doable than originally thought.  I appreciated that perspective.  Its all about attitude.
I finished the program losing a total of 14 pounds  including my stubborn middle that I became convinced I couldn’t lose.  I was ecstatic!  Weight goal aside, I am particularly proud of my new resting heart rate of 48 bpm versus mid 60s bpm.  A low resting heart rate is one indicator of aerobic fitness and I was pleasantly surprised over my new rate.  It all made sense considering the amount of cardio in this program.  Lets just say I was doing as much cardio as when I was training for local running races but without the weight resistance on top of it.  There is no doubt Hitch Fit is very demanding but how many times in life does someone go through a transformation?!  It was this statement alone that I kept on the forefront and it kept me going.  I have one chance to do a transformation and I might as well go put the effort into it.  The rewards would be so worth it. Not too long ago, I was teetering into severe low-back problems due to years of bad posture and my physical therapist at the time informed me I had the beginnings of the small hump on my upper back between my shoulder blades.  I would attend periodic doctor’s visits, receive prednisone tablets prescribed for the inflammation and pain pills I couldn’t stomach.  Now, two separate physical therapy sessions from two years ago and weight resistance solidified by Hitch Fit, my back couldn’t feel any stronger and better.  I am particularly proud of my side profile picture post-program – my back couldn’t look any better!
Committing to Hitch Fit is definitely one of the most right-on to-dos I have elected to participate in.  Because I want to hone in my new skills, I have chosen the maintenance program and you wouldn’t be surprised to read that it’s no slouch program either!  And I wouldn’t want it any other way! Thank you Diana! You are the best!”
