In high school I was a cheerleader for 2yrs and Pom-pom for 1. My last athletic achievement before my 12 week Hitch-Fit transformation last November was a Co-ed Beer league softball team 10 yrs ago…lol! Needless to say this is my first fitness competition.
*What or who inspires you to compete?
Brandi Wisdom was the first of many friends who inspired me to transform with Hitch-Fit. My trainer, James Hanton, inspired me to compete.
*What excites you most about competing with the WBFF?
There are several things that excite me! First and most importantly is the accomplishment of competing. I am excited for the high energy of the show. I absolutely adore all the new friends I have made during this process.
*What are your future goals?
To live a lifetime of fitness and nutrition is the main goal. I want to continue to inspire and motivate others especially family and friends. I will continue to explore future opportunities in the fitness industry.
*What obstacles have you overcome to achieve your goals (what’s your story?)
I, like many others, had many excuses NOT to change my lifestyle. Being a stay at home mother of 2, where the kids diet quickly became my my diet, fast and convenient. I felt selfish if I took time for myself to change what I was becoming. I finally got the courage to sign up with Hitch-Fit in which I promptly broke my foot. This was a major obstacle to overcome and I did by training the first 6 of 12 weeks with a boot on. I currently have a cake business that I operate out of my home, not an easy challenge when you are sticking to a meal plan. And to anyone who has or is competing knows there is a financial responsibility that seems endless. When my husband’s hours at work were severely cut for four months, we found a way to overcome that burden. Life will always present obstacles you just have to learn how to handle them.
*How can people find out more about you?
*Anyone you would like to thank who has been a part of your fitness journey?
There are so many people I would like to thank…..James Hanton, my trainer, who has pushed me above and beyond imaginable. My husband, Steve, who has supported me through this journey as well as being my at home posing coach. My two beautiful children, Sophia (5) and Stryker (3) for putting up with a “sometimes” grumpy mom. My mom, Linda Zerger, has been a HUGE support along with being my wardrobe specialist for pictures. And I can’t leave out GG (my Grandma) for being the on-call babysitter. My awesome sister, Jennifer Rokey, for being my “go to” girl when things get tough and I need that extra push. Plus, a BIG thanks to all my friends, new and old, that have been there for me every step of the way! I love you all dearly!! Thank you!
