It hardly seems possible that time has passed so quickly! Hitch Fit celebrated it’s one year anniversary on August 1, 2010, yet it seems like only yesterday that we (Micah and Diana) decided to take a leap of faith and open the first Hitch Fit Gym in Kansas City. Only months prior to that we had begun our online personal training program that was off to a great start, the opportunity to open the gym came to us very last minute, literally…within one weekend we had to decide if we were ready to take our business to the next level. We prayed about this decision, and God answered those prayers in an incredibly speedy manner as all the pieces of the puzzle for this dream of ours to become a reality, fell exactly in place.
Next time you go to a gym pick up a 55lb Dumbbell, this is what Keith took off his body, Talk about hard work and dedication. He changed every aspect of his life in a positive way. I cannot tell you how proud of you I am Keith, not only do you look amazing and in much better health but you found the true purpose behind all of this.. Helping and inspiring others. I think Micah told me that the very first day we started working together. I used to work out hard then give myself a pass to eat whatever I wanted. I knew that was wrong. I simply wasn’t being honest with myself. The bottom line is if your mind is like mine, it works overtime to convince you that you can eat what you want and still reach your goal. Well, guess what, you’re fooling yourself!
I started on my transformation at the end of 2009, beginning of 2010. I was heavy (some would say fat… I know this thanks to my job and the Internet!), I felt unattractive. I was shutting down. I was ready for a change.
When I started with Micah, my early program was not perfect. With food, I would slip. I would blow off the gym sometimes on my off days. I would tell myself, I’ll just work harder tomorrow.
But in time, those “slips” became fewer. Something was happening. I started making better choices (remember Micah’s mantra).
The longer I worked at it, the easier it became to walk away from temptation. You know, all the cookies and cakes co-workers and companies bring into the office… the stuff that somehow has a magnetic force pulling you towards it at 3 in the afternoon. I actually started to walk by, go back into my office and do something bizarre… like drink a protein shake! For me, that is HUGE progress.
During each workout, I would usually hit Micah with a barrage of questions, mainly about food. What type of carbs are the best? Is it ok to eat after I get home late from work? What’s the deal with fruit? Each answer would help me improve my diet.
At the same time, we would hit it hard in the gym. I loved going to my workout sessions. Micah, Diana, James and the other trainers have great energy and zero drama. We laughed a lot while Micah kicked my a@@! He has this place outside the gym he likes to take clients. It’s called the hill. Substitute the “i” in hill with an “e”.. and you get the picture.
I’ve lost over 50 pounds (never thought I would say that). I did it in a slow, consistent and healthy way. Now, I will actually try on clothes from certain stores that I never used to. I recently bought a couple new suits from Banana Republic! A few months ago, I wouldn’t even stop to look. And now, BR has the Mad Men style suit collection. I feel very Don Draper! (In reality, I’m probably more like the nerdy Peter Campbell).
So now, I like to tell people that we all strive to be perfect with things like diet and exercise. But perfection is damn hard. Give yourself credit for the progress that you make. And be honest with yourself. For me, I know that each time I make an excuse like “it’s hard to diet with such a busy job” or “I can’t eat that much grilled chicken” that dishonestly is a mind trick which keeps me from reaching my goals.

My hope is that my experience will motivate others to reach their goals. So please, shoot me a question on Facebook or come up and say hi if you see me out. I love to talk about this stuff and share my experience. I’m no expert. But I can tell you what has worked for me.
In a nutshell its a DVD system that you do at home that is set up for 90 days with very intense workouts, a generic nutrition guide, no personal support and a so called thermogenic that is supposed to help burn fat quicker, which is not governed so who knows what is really in the product.
I have personally done the workouts, they are intense and I do believe in muscle confusion. Here is where the issues are though, its not for beginners, if you do not have a workout background this system is not for you, there is no personal touch or support, you never talk to Tony Horton personally, its a automated system telling you to have a great day!!, everyone is doing the exact same workouts and the same diet, nothing is custom. It’s not good for anyone with a pre existing injury or a specific type of diet such as vegan, gluten free, comp prep, ECT. They do not have any sort of maintence program after the program is complete which does not lead to long term success, nothing is touched on inner self, and everything is about the outer transformation… So you finish your 90 days, lose some weight, then what? I do feel it is the best DVD system on the market available but I think it lacks in many areas surrounding total transformation for long term success. You’re paying around $120 for the whole system.

WE WORK WITH EVERY TYPE OF PERSON
We can work with any type of individual from someone overweight, to someone trying to put weight on as well as sport specific type of goals. We have clients with disabilities and clients stepping on stage to compete. Being that everything is custom there is nothing we cannot make. We have worked with truck drivers, night shift cops, pregnant women, post pregnancy, clients disabled without use of 1 or both legs, pre existing injuries, health related issues, diabetes, gluten free, vegans, anything and everything. My main goal is not to sell as many systems as possible, my main goal is to work with as many 100% ready to change their lives people as possible and transform them. You have to be 100% ready and willing for change if you expect change to happen. As I tell people when they write me, if you are not 100% ready for change then do not buy this system.
THE ONLY ISSUES
The only issues with online training is you have to be the type of person that can follow a plan on their own or with a friend, if you need constant accountability or someone looking over you, then I highly advise finding a great trainer/coach in your area but you expect to pay 50-100 per hour for 12-16 weeks if you have a 50 lb weight loss or less. The other thing that cannot be taught over the internet is intensity, you need to know how hard you can push your body and most people naturally do not. A good rule of thumb ” if you can talk while your working out, then your not working hard enough” and “when you feel the burn do 5- 7 more reps” !!!
Hitch Fit vs. P90x Before and After Pics
Both Hitch Fit and p90x are intense and can be successful for the client in fat loss and muscle gain. Both supply lots of before and after pics which show the proof on the visual changes of the outer appearance, The most important factor is what p90x leaves out, where are they after the program, were they educated enough to do things on their own, do they know what to eat, when to eat and how much to eat when they are not in transformation mode and just living to maintain? Not one client who has finished the Hitch Fit program 100% and fully committed themselves has gained the weight back controllably, can p90x say that?
It’s confession time! How many of you have a secret sabotage behavior that is holding you back from reaching your fitness goals? If I had to take a guess, I would say there are a lot of hands going up right now. I say “secret” because the majority of the time we don’t do these things when other people are watching. Perhaps that is because you KNOW these behaviors are detrimental to our fitness success, or are embarrassed of the problem, or quite simply don’t want to face it and admit it. Well I think it’s high time to get these confessions out in the open so we can end the weight loss sabotage! Here are three of the MOST COMMON sabotage eating behaviors which will prevent you from achieving your weight loss goals.
If you want to lose weight, shed fat and own the fit and healthy body you’ve always dreamed of, step #1 is to Lose the ‘Tude!
Do you snub vegetables? Do you make faces when someone tells you that they ate a healthy choice such as chicken or fish? Do you stick your nose up and say “eeeeewwwww” when someone tells you that a healthy breakfast consists of oatmeal and egg whites? If your response to the fact that you should be drinking water instead of soda is, “I hate water it has no flavor”, if you hear that sugar should be limited in a healthy diet and your response is “I would die without sugar”, if you hear that pizza and nachos are not staples of a healthy diet and your response is “Oh, you’re trying to take away all the “good” foods”…then you are severely suffering from a BAD “Food Attitude”!
I decided that this attitude towards food and healthy eating was an important topic to discuss because the comments above are ones that I hear on a consistent basis. I hear them from people who have come seeking help and guidance on how to lose fat weight and change their bodies, and also from people who are either still too scared of failure, or insecure, or not yet motivated to make positive changes to their eating habits.
