I’ve got a very special transformation to share with you today! Cynthia is a 41 year old mother of two boys who decided it was time to make some changes and get her life, her body and her energy levels back on track. She was essentially sick and tired of being sick and tired. Over the course of her program, she challenged herself, pushed herself harder than she knew she was capable of! She didn’t want any excuse to stand in her way, so even when she banged her toe so hard she probably broke it and should have gone to see a doctor, she just kept pushing and waited until the end of her program to even get that taken care of! (Which I think she’s crazy for and do not advise!! Go to the doctor people!! :-) Cynthia ended up shedding 30 pounds of fat, going from 148 pounds to 118, and body fat dropped from 33% to 20.5%! Incredible!!

Cynthia also has a very special connection with Hitch Fit! One of her inspirations for change was our very own Brandi Wisdom….who just happens to be Cynthia’s sister!!

Cynthia’s Story:

I had always been very thin in my younger years.  I remember in high school begging the doctor to give me something, anything to help

Welcome to the 30’s!  Yep!  Things sure did start changing.  I now have two boys, and am blessed to be a stay at home mom.  Things are crazy, and I know every mother can relate.  The housework, laundry and projects are never ending.  I also volunteered  at the school as often as I could because it made me feel good to help not only my children, but all the other children.  Taking time for me is something I would never even consider.  I viewed it as being selfish.   I was totally devoted to my family and home.

So here I am at 41.  My kids are now 15 and 8, and life is full.  Both boys are involved in sports which keeps our family on a constant run nearly every day of the week.  My eating habits were not the best.  We found ourselves eating out often for convenience.  Many times I would only eat one or two meals a day….mainly because the day went by so fast and I would lose track of time.

One of my battles that I have fought through much of my life is chronic fatigue.  I would go the doctor and they would run tests to find nothing wrong.  It was destroying me.  I felt depressed.  Performing the simplest day to day household tasks were almost too much for me to handle.  I knew I was not being the best mother and wife that I could be.  It was time for a change.  I had tried many different diets in the past, and was successful.  The problem, I still felt fatigued, and the weight loss was only short term as I always found myself going back to my old habits.

In October of 2011, I talked to my sister, Brandi Wisdom about some options that I was considering.  She knew my past, and told me that I should do the Hitch Fit program.  That scared me!  I knew how hard she had worked doing the program, and did not think I had the energy to do something that big.  I have always been inspired by Brandi’s transformation.  I was amazed and so proud of her and her accomplishments.  She promised me that I would feel better.  That was all it took…….I asked my husband what he thought and he was totally on board.

Sending in my “before” pictures was extremely difficult.  Actually seeing those pictures was a very emotional and sad day for me.  I wondered, how did I let myself get so out of control to the point that I cannot function on a day to day basis??  I realized that this was going to be the beginning of a new journey for me.  I wanted to change my life and I was ready.

My transformation period fell over three big holidays….Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.  I thought it would be super hard to pass on the mashed potatoes, my all time favorite pumpkin pie,  cookies and candies.  My willpower impressed everyone.  I was not about to eat something that would jeopardize my workouts.   I worked way too hard to let that happen.

Snap!  I think I broke my toe!  Four weeks into my journey, I tripped on a gym bag.  I know…..pretty clumsy of me.  I could barely walk and my toe immediately started to turn purple.  Panic started to set in and I cried……well, also because my toe really hurt!  My worry…..that I would not be able to exercise!  I did not want to be one of those people that gave excuses.  I threw all my excuses out the window the day I decided to commit to the program.  With four weeks down, I had gone over the “hump”.  I was not about to let that all go down the drain!  So, I continued to exercise and walk.  Yes, it hurt.  I chose to not go to the doctor for fear of being told to stay off of my foot.  My toe is still purple, and I did go to the doctor after I completed the program.  He said all is good, my toe will end up being fine and no harm was done by not coming in as soon as it happened.

I have learned so much over the course of my transformation.  I learned the tools that I need to lead a healthy lifestyle.  I learned to believe in myself.  The hardest part for me however, was learning to accept the fact that it is okay to take time out of the day for me.  Once I could accept that, it seemed like everything else fell into place.  It was not easy though!  I was eating more than I had ever eaten before, and the workouts…..they were intense!  All my workouts were done at home in my basement and with my treadmill.  Some people could not believe that I could get the results that I got without going to a gym.   I had to be very disciplined and dedicated.  I gave every workout everything I had.  Once I started noticing my weight change, I became more and more motivated.  My energy level started to change.  I was feeling good.

Now….I feel amazing!!!  I feel better than I have felt in my entire life!  I love to exercise so much that I think I am slightly addicted!  I can now accomplish in one day what used to take me one week to accomplish.  My energy level is unbelievable.  The food that I eat, I love it!  Cheat meals do not even interest me.  Why eat something that is not good for you (and does not taste good) if it is only going to make you feel bad??
