I’m looking forward to sharing Denise’s story today because she had an experience that many can relate to. Denise is a mother of 4 who has struggled with her weight for quite some time. When she first started her Hitch Fit program, she got off to a good start, but hadn’t changed one key thing…her mind. Initially she still was looking at Hitch Fit as a “diet” and not a lifestyle, still letting old excuses creep in and still believing her old “story” of who she was and what she was able to achieve. At Hitch Fit we won’t sugar coat the truth, so I told Denise exactly what I was seeing and what I felt needed to change, starting with her mindset! Denise started anew…but this time she changed her mind about what she was capable of. She thought that she wouldn’t be capable of breaking past the 160 pound mark, but when she got herself in gear, she was able to prove herself wrong! I’m so proud of Denise, proud of her for sharing her story and being honest about the challenges that she has faced in getting to where she is today, and proud of what she has achieved!! The sky is the limit when you change your mind about what you are capable of! Congrats Denise!!

“My story is pretty much like 90% of the female population. I have always exercised and maintained a pretty healthy lifestyle. Food has always been the most painful challenge for me. It’s like a love/hate relationship. I am the mother of 4 beautiful children. I was able to lose pregnancy weight fairly well after my first two. I had my last 2 children later in life and in the same calendar year. Can I say it was a really tough year? After the last child, I worked and worked on getting the weight off. I would see some results but never where I truly wanted to be. I could get my weight down to 160 pounds, start to feel better in my size 12 jeans and then relax somewhat and then the weight came right back on. It’s like I loved this vicious cycle I continued in for so long.
Starting in January 2012 I was at 32% body fat weighing in at 175 lbs. I then started my cycle again with exercising and dieting. I was able to get to 165 lbs and realized that I was starting to slip again. I was searching the web one day on exercise programs and somehow ran across the hitch fit program. I looked over the sight for a few days along with all of the testimonials and decided to give it a shot. At this point I was even going to the gym and hired a personal trainer. Which she was great in helping me gain strength but horrible in the nutrition aspect. I asked her to weigh me each week that I needed someone to be accountable to but her response was for me to just stop eating. That really saddened me to know I was asking for help and couldn’t get it.
So, I signed up for the online program with Diana. I started in July 2012. About 3 weeks into the program, I had already started slipping and confessed this to her. She really gave some hard nose advice and made me reevaluate what I really wanted for myself and I had to change my mindset or this never would work. So, I restarted the program and followed it as best as I could for me. I was right on target for the exercise and cardio. It was tough, but I did well. The nutrition was very difficult and I did have slips. Being that this is where I really struggle at. But I can honestly say that without this program I wouldn’t be where I am today. I finally was able to get below 160 lbs and stay there. I was able to see a “new” me and felt to good and felt healthy. I’ve always exercised but never looked like I worked as hard as I did. I can honestly say now that I look like the hard work that I put into it. The nutrition is still a daily struggle but I now have the tools, the knowledge or even the confidence to make better choices. I am in such a better place physically and mentally that I know that I have finally crossed that barrier.
I couldn’t be here where I am today without Diana and the Hitch Fit program. Plus the Facebook page is so huge!!! Seeing everyone else on sight really is motivational! When I am feeling a little lazy or want to cheat, I go to the FB page for motivation.
